When troubleshooting signs or transformers, be sure that the primary power is turned "off". Although SGFP transformers are designed to shut off the power when the ground fault occurs at the secondary circuit, it is possible that electric potential coming from another source exists in the signs or the transformers. Be sure that the transformer is properly grounded before troubleshooting.
